The jetty side fishes like a small inlet — tide-driven, structure-oriented — while the beach side fishes classic Gulf surf with troughs and bars close to shore.

- On the jetty, fish the moving tide; outgoing water pulling bait from the harbor is the top window.
- On the beach, the hours around high tide bring pompano, whiting, and cruising snook into the first trough.
- Dead low exposes the near bar — use it to read the cuts you will fish on the flood.
Best time of day
- Early morning before the beach crowd is the best all-around window on both the jetty and the surf.
- Winter pompano and whiting feed through the middle of the day — surf fishing here doesn't require dawn patrol in the cool months.
- Evening outgoing tides on the jetty are a strong warm-month snook window.
Wind strategy
- Onshore west wind roughs up both the beach and the jetty tip; tuck inside the pass along the rocks for fishable water.
- East wind flattens everything and is prime for beach sight-casting in the warm months.
- North wind puts the jetty in the lee and can concentrate bait against the rocks on the pass side.
